Estera Concepts is an indigenous brand that sells an array of Nigerian art (ení Iran to be precise).
We use Thaumatococcus Daniellii popularly called ‘Iran’ in Yoruba language to weave mats which are later combined with other materials such as leather to produce classy, elegant, durable and affordable items.
Estera Concepts strive to ensure culture is mixed with quality and passion thus, giving you a feel of a traditional craft in a modern way.
We express ideas, creativity and innovations through our various designs and products. All our products are handmade and so far we have produced the following items; journals, memopads, totes, pull out drawstring bags, saddle bags, executive (laptop) bags, folders, wallets (for both male and female), men’s clutch, artworks, wall frames, key holders, sandals, slippers, wedges, visitor’s book, footmats, floormats, handfan, tablemats and coasters. We are always eager to come up with new ideas to add to our list of creations.
Our other services are sales of thaumatococcus daniellii seed, mat and training on how to weave thaumatococcus daniellii mats.
We aim to support the women and children of Ogotun-Ekiti by helping them tap into their crafts, creative minds and by giving their handwork a chance to hope – that it will go across the globe.
Ogotun-Ekiti is a rural town in Ekiti State, Nigeria and all the mats we work with are made by the women of that community.
I did learn tailoring and fashion designing at a big sister’s place in Ibadan. Her name is Bunmi Ọjọ́, CEO Guaranteed Trendy Outfit, Ibadan.
The mat weaving craft is a craft that has stayed in my hometown since it was founded. So, this venture is basically promoting and sustaining the craft so it does not go into extinct.
Aside craft, I work as an administration officer at Walk of Intimacy Christian Ministry.
